I am an award winning artist having won many first, second and third place ribbons over the years.
As a small child, I loved coloring. Mixing colors together was a sheer delight. My father helped me develop the skill of properly applying color. I always liked and was good with crafts and hand sewing. I created my own designs for needle pointing, crocheting and embroidering.
Thanks to the encouragement of my husband, Gilbert Pennison, Jr. (also an artist) I began painting on canvas. I am an abstract artist working in mixed media and acrylics. Gilbert and I have extensively traveled throughout 49 of the 50 United States, Mexico, Canada, and Europe including Greece. These trips allowed us to visit many of the world’s leading Art Museums. We are now members of the world famous Speed Art Museum here in Louisville. To view Gilbert Pennison Jr.’s work use the following address: http://gilbert-pennison.artistwebsites.com/index.html
I am currently a member of Central Kentucky Art Guild (CKAG). While living in Houston, Texas, I was a member of the Watercolor Art Society of Houston (WASH), the Northwest Art League (NWAL) and Lone Star Art League (LSAG) where I earned a reputation as an award winning skilled artist. My biggest thrill was the day I won a Blue Ribbon in a competition judged by world - renowned artist, Polly Hammett.
